Hello everyone. Clement from Westcoast here.
Latin-American bakeries are not as common in Vancouver as many others, notably Asian bakeries. However, a wonderful bakery can be found at the corner of Joyce Street and Wellington Avenue, in Vancouver. Latin-American desserts make frequent use of whipped cream, caramel, chocolate, milk, and many more. This makes many popular desserts quite sweet. But the bakery is not only a place to make your sweet tooth happy! Latin-American bakeries also feature many foods that are savory, and the most popular at this bakery is the empanada. This delicious baked good, similar to a sandwich, is made of cornflower and is typically filled with various different meats and vegetables, eggs, or cheese. For something sweeter, try the custard pudding called flan, the tres leches cake soaked in three kinds of milk, or simply buy the sweet bread and have it with a morning tea or coffee.
The bakery also sells various groceries and goods to bring home and prepare yourself. Chorizos, spicy sausages, are my personal favourite. They also have breads, drinks and other Latin-American snacks. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this small but fantastic eating spot!
