Hello everyone! Clement from Westcoast here.
Vancouver is a great city showcasing many types of food and drink from all over the world. The province of British Columbia is also home to many well-known wineries, especially in the Okanogan region. The Vancouver International Wine Festival is a yearly event around February that brings this culture to the forefront and celebrates food and wine from all over the world.
The Vancouver International Wine Festival began in 1979, as a fund raiser for the Vancouver Playhouse, and started as a small local event. 47 years later, it is now a multinational annual event that raises funds for the Bard on the Beach Theatre Society. Every spring, this festival invites wineries from all over the world to provide an opportunity for learning about various food and wine cultures, provide marketing opportunities for people in the industry, and provide a fun and educational experience to those who enjoy learning and sampling different types of wine and food. It is recognized as the premier wine event in north America, as well as the oldest wine events in the world. It features different types of wine and food pairings, as well as gourmet dinners, lunches, workshops and culinary contests. With so many options and ways to enjoy the festival, there is sure to be something here to suit anyone’s taste and budget!
