Hello everyone. It’s Clement.
January is a cold time of year in Vancouver, especially this year! Just after Christmas and the new year, it’s still winter time, which means cold wind, and lots of rain, and snow in 2017! But six years ago, a new festival began in Vancouver that makes this time of year a lot easier to enjoy. And that festival is the Vancouver Hot Chocolate Festival.
The Vancouver Hot Chocolate is an annual event that takes place every January for approximately 30 days. 25 different cafes, icecream shops and more come together to serve many limited edition flavours as well as special combinations not regularly available. A few examples of flavours include classic hot chocolate served with a doughnut, to hot chocolate with lavender syrup and honey marshmallows, to hot chocolate poured and served over vanilla or chocolate ice cream!
This festival takes place all over East Vancouver, and a walking map is on the website located at:
With so many flavours and options, this festival is sure to please anyone who likes sweets and hot chocolate and wants a nice way to stay warm during the cold and wet month of January. Look forward to the 2017 chocolate festival!
